Nadia Buyse at Dardishi Festival 2019

Dardishi Festival 2019 took place for the first time on March 8-10 2019 at the Centre for Contemporary Arts Glasgow. Over the course of International Women's Day weekend, we launched of our first print zine and held 3 workshops, 2 live music events, and 4 film screenings – all lead by Arab and North African womxn artists and creative practitioners.

We kicked off our opening night with a performance by Dubais, an Arabfuturist multimedia music project that explores the themes of diasporic migration and transnationalism. Fronting Dubais is punk musician and cultural activist Nadia Buyse, who speaks about her experience performing at Dardishi Festival 2019 in the clip below:
